Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 May 2026 · Applies to all Corvo users
Plain English summary: Corvo is a study tool that connects to your Canvas LMS and generates AI notes. You pay £9.99/month after a 7-day free trial. You own your data. We don't use your content to train AI. You can cancel any time. Don't misuse the platform or share your account.
1. Who these terms apply to
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Corvo ("we", "us", "our") when you access or use the Corvo service at itscorvo.com. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Corvo.
You must be at least 18 years old and a current or prospective university student to use Corvo.
2. What Corvo provides
Corvo is a study platform that connects to your institution's Canvas LMS (or compatible learning management system) to:
- Download your lecture slides and generate AI-powered study notes
- Create flashcards and quizzes from your course content
- Display your timetable and upcoming deadlines
- Summarise Canvas announcements into a daily or weekly digest
- Provide an AI study assistant scoped to your course content
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account or use Corvo on behalf of another person. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us at hello@corvo.app immediately.
You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account.
4. Canvas API token
To use Corvo, you provide a Canvas API token that gives us read-only access to your Canvas account. By connecting Canvas, you confirm:
- The token is your own, generated from your Canvas account
- You have the right to authorise Corvo to read your Canvas data on your behalf
- You understand that Corvo uses this token solely to power the features described above and never modifies anything in Canvas
You can revoke access at any time by deleting your Canvas token from your Canvas account settings.
5. Subscription and billing
Free trial
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment is required during the trial. After 7 days, access to paid features is suspended until you subscribe.
Paid subscription
Corvo Pro is billed at £9.99 per month (or the price shown at checkout, which may differ for promotional pricing). Billing is handled by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial months.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry automatically. If payment cannot be collected, your Pro access will be suspended until the outstanding amount is resolved.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Corvo to violate your institution's academic integrity or plagiarism policies — Corvo generates study notes and revision aids, not coursework or essays for submission
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from Corvo in an automated way
- Attempt to access another user's data or circumvent authentication
- Use Corvo in a way that could damage, overload, or impair the service
- Resell or sublicence access to Corvo
- Upload or process content you do not have the right to use
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.
7. Intellectual property
Your content
You retain ownership of your lecture slides, course materials, and any content you bring into Corvo. By using Corvo, you grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the service (generating notes, flashcards, quizzes, etc.).
AI-generated output
Notes, flashcards, and quizzes generated by Corvo are provided for your personal study use. We do not claim ownership of AI-generated content produced from your materials.
Corvo platform
The Corvo platform, brand, design, and codebase are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of Corvo without our written permission.
8. AI and third-party services
Corvo uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate study content. By using Corvo, you acknowledge that:
- Extracted lecture slide text is sent to Anthropic's API for processing
- Anthropic does not train on API data by default under their usage policies
- AI-generated content may contain errors — always cross-reference with your official course materials
- Corvo is a study aid, not a replacement for attending lectures or reading your course materials
9. Availability and liability
We aim to keep Corvo available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for:
- Temporary downtime for maintenance or due to issues with third-party services (Canvas, Supabase, Anthropic, Stripe)
- Loss of data caused by events outside our control
- Academic consequences arising from use or misuse of AI-generated content
- Changes to your institution's Canvas setup that affect Corvo's ability to read your data
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Corvo is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, or if we discontinue the service. On account deletion, all your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of Corvo after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you may cancel your account before they take effect.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
